and so this is christmas!?

my makeshift christmas palm: the saddest, yet most hilarious, christmas tree since a charlie brown christmas

........................................................................................................................................................................

hohoho from soko. so while christmas is officially over here (it's 12:17 am), i'd like to give you a taste of what it entails. christmas is really no big deal in these parts. mostly the kids are pumped about a day off and the possibility of going to lotte mart (comparable to wal-mart). but we tried to keep the christmas spirit alive by going to a-town last night , where the first person to officially wish me a merry christmas was an old korean lady bartender who said "merry christmas, baby!" and gave me a big hug and a fat kiss. deb and i slept together so that we could wake up and open our presents first thing in the morning. and that we did, around 11 am. here be the spoils:

deb's treasure trove of beauty products

the complete ROME! and a mean case of bedhead

and there were some other presents too. after that, we extended the merrymaking by going to buy delicious eggbread, watching said ROME, and eating a christmas dinner of kamjitang (pig-spine soup). it's delicious as well. and really that's about the long and short of it. it was about 55 degrees out and it didn't feel much like christmas at all.

i hope everyone at home had an awesome christmas. i miss you all!
season's greetings, kelly

Deb & Kelly,

Merry Christmas! Thanx for the time-zone preview - somehow we didn't get the lame Christmas tree nor the pig spine soup - maybe next year.

Deb - Spoke to your Dad Monday and looks like we will all get together at Grandma and Grandpa's house next Sun (12/30). We will miss you. Have a great New Year!!!

Love - Uncle Mark

How are you? From the look of your pictures, it looks like you're having a good time, but you could have a good time anywhere. Culture shock? Read some of your blogs, mostly about the kids and Christmas. I had a nice one. By-the-way, got engaged on XMas Eve. Proposed in Woodbury on the green, gave her the wrong ring (wedding band, not my fault), and then proposed again outside of BankNorth's parking lot. Only me. Planning what was once a small wedding into a now ginormous one. Will probably work with Dave again this summer. Will not be the same without you there, of course. Beware of any ****heads you meet in your travels and stay safe.
